From Wikipedia: is a spiral galaxy in the mid-northern constellation Canes Venatici. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781, and catalogued by Charles Messier. The galaxy has two ring structures, and the inner ring is an area of intense star formation.
From NASA: M94 is also notable for its deficiency of dark matter relative to other galaxies. Astronomers do not know why it lacks the normal amount of dark matter, but the galaxy has been the subject of extensive study as a result.
Processing
Processing was with PixInsight utilizing the RC Astro plugins. I utilized multiple rounds of masked stretching to preserve detail in the core while bringing out the fainter details in the outer regions.
