Pixinsight v1.9 was released this week, and the big update is Multiscale Gradient Correction. I’ve had some time to try it out now, and I’m massively impressed. It’s a game changing improvement in gradient removal. It really allowed me to bring out the details in the darker areas of the image without overcooking the rest.
Here’s my first run at the Horsehead and Flame Nebula with the new tool:
