Elephant Trunk Nebula

Another block of data from a busy October. Didn’t get nearly enough time on this target, but it’s falling too low in the west to be worth continuing this year. I remember learning about this when I was a young child at the Hayden Planetarium, so this target, along with the Horsehead Nebula have been lifelong dreams of mine to see and image.

I’ve also decided to BlueSky a try, so I’m posting over there now too….check it out.

The Elephant Trunk Nebula. This is special one for me because I remember learning about it at the Hayden Planetarium as a young child. I did not get enough time on it, and will come back to it next year. First view is standard color, 2nd is starless, and 3rd is a false color.#astrophotography
